Warning: Spoilers rampant for a lot of series. Don't blame us if you see something
you didn't want to know
Throughout the world of anime and manga, there are characters who know the advantage of
holding their tongue. They're often the companion of someone louder or more showy. They
can fade into the background, masquerading as the sweet, the innocent, the demurely polite
friend. Some people may overlook them because of this. But in reality, they usually know a lot
more about what's going on than even the main characters. For some, the knowledge is
enough. Others use it to their advantage. But they're all evil.
Our panelists:
Imonoyama Nokoru and Takamura Suoh, both track Z students
at CLAMP Gakuen. Nokoru being in the
running for most evil character of all time, and Suoh being able to put up with him,
they're both well qualified as judges.
Suoh: Kaichou, this way, hurry!
Nokoru: I think there's more of them than there was a minute ago.
Suoh: Maybe they're multiplying. Hurry up, or they'll catch us.
Nokoru: Where are we headed?
Suoh: Away from them.. wasn't that obvious?
Nokoru: Well, we're pretty close to the elementary locker room.
Suoh: We are? You're right.. I doubt they'll follow us in there. Let's try it.
Nokoru: We can shortcut through the gym, there's nothing scheduled in there
for the next half hour.
Suoh: Let's. And when we get there, I brought some of the work you've been
putting off.
Nokoru: You're.. always so well-prepared, Suoh.
Suoh: Someone has to be. Here, get inside.
Nokoru: It's empty.. I suppose that makes sense, since the gym isn't in use.
Suoh: I don't think they're coming in.. good. We'll have to wait until they
leave, though. So here's something for us to do.
Nokoru: What is it? Oh, look, the new shower heads are already installed.
Suoh: Kaichou! Stop fooling around and come over here and help me introduce
this month's winner. You've left it sitting far too long. It's way past due.
Nokoru: Look, you can adjust the nozzle. Four different settings.
Suoh: KAICHOU!
Nokoru: Hai, Suoh? Oh, the introduction.
Suoh: Yes, the introduction. No more procrastinating. But I do have a
question.. it's actually something I've always been meaning to ask you, and
this month's winner reminded me.
Nokoru: Ask away, Suoh. What is it?
Suoh: If your family founded the school.. why isn't it called Imonoyama Gakuen?
Nokoru: Oh, that's easy to answer. Imonoyama Gakuen is too hard to say.
Suoh: Is it? Maybe. But if that's the case, what do this month's winners have
to do with the school? I can't believe it's just a coincidence.
Nokoru: Why are you so curious about this, Suoh?
Suoh: I'm sure I've seen them around campus. I want to know.
Nokoru: There's some things we're just not meant to know.
Suoh: ...
Nokoru: Let's just say they really fit this category and they probably
should've won months ago.
Suoh: If you say so, Kaichou.. do they have some kind of information on your
family?
Nokoru: We're above scandal, Suoh.
Suoh: That doesn't answer my question.
Nokoru: What kind of information could they have?
Suoh: If I knew, it wouldn't be of much use to them.
Nokoru: Let's just finish introducing them so then we can figure out a way to
sneak out of here.
Suoh: I thought you were going to try out the new showers.
Nokoru: Did you want to do that together?
Suoh: ... I shouldn't have distracted you. Let's finish up.
Nokoru: This month's winner is unusual, because it's not one person, but
several.
Suoh: And they have a mysterious connection to the school and the Imonoyama
family that Kaichou refuses to disclose.
Nokoru: Ahh.. S.. Suoh..
Suoh: Yes?
Nokoru: Just.. finish.
Suoh: Fine. This.. or rather, last month's winner, is a group named CLAMP.
Nokoru: Hey, look, there's a mist setting.
Suoh: Go ahead and try it if you want. I don't think they're gone yet.
Nokoru: Maybe if we both went out there dressed in towels, they'd be too
stunned to chase us anymore.
Suoh: Do you really believe that enough to try it?
